I say lucky because it was just luck that I was reminded to go to Treffen.  On Saturday I decided to wash my car and spotted a Red VW R32 with a Jetta front.  I talked to the guys and learned they were from St. Louis and that they came up here for Treffen.<\/p>\n<p>In all of the rush of the summer shows, I forgot to check on when Treffen was this year.  It&#8217;s my first time at the show, but pictured from last year&#8217;s gathering showed me how big this thing is.<\/p>\n<p>I was at Treffen for about 4 hours and went home after killing three camera batteries.  I don&#8217;t know if I need another battery or if I should just bring along another camera.  <\/p>\n<p>Treffen was very cool and I met two cool guys with R32&#8217;s that weekend.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/\">Pictures from Treffen 2006<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Highlights<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9376.jpg\">Grey MKIV Jetta GLI<\/a> &#8211; I love the use of the classic colors<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9382.jpg\">Red MKIV Jetta<\/a> &#8211; very clean without going too far<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9390.jpg\">Blue MKIV Jetta GLI<\/a> &#8211; blue GLI&#8217;s are my favorite Jettas and there were plenty of them at Treffen<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9405.jpg\">Grey MKV GTI<\/a> &#8211; the new GTI is growing on me, these nice VW wheels help too<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9443.jpg\">Possibly the world&#8217;s loudest GTI R32<\/a> &#8211; this guy make a scene when leaving by letting us all know what a VR6 without mufflers and cats sounds like<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9430.jpg\">Silver VW GTIs<\/a> &#8211; there&#8217;s an R32 in between two 337&#8217;s, I&#8217;m pretty sure the other one isn&#8217;t a 337 because it has a sunroof<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9427.jpg\">Yellow Corrado<\/a> &#8211; this car looks like it&#8217;s never driven<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9419.jpg\">Red Corrado<\/a> &#8211; I think red is the best color for these cars<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9357.jpg\">City Volkswagen&#8217;s Yellow 20th Anniversary Edition GTI<\/a> &#8211; seeing this car made me want to auto-x my own GTI<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9349.jpg\">Black GTI with Jetta front and A4 wheels<\/a> &#8211; some would call this car confused<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9343.jpg\">500+ HP GTI<\/a> &#8211; this 2.0 VW has more than 500 horses<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9326.jpg\">Red GTI R32 with Jetta front<\/a> &#8211; I met this guy the day before at a car wash; you would almost think this car exists because he has used so many OEM parts<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9270.jpg\">Very clean 1.8T in a GTI<\/a> &#8211; I wish my interior alone were this clean<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9231.jpg\">the Uneek TT<\/a> &#8211; this car has too many mods to list<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9200.jpg\">Hot, Red Cabrio<\/a> &#8211; It&#8217;s hard not to like this Cabrio<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9147.jpg\">Red MKII GTI<\/a> &#8211; I hope my car looks this good when it is this old<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9156.jpg\">MKII GTI with R32 engine<\/a> &#8211; this kinda scares me<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9133.jpg\">MKI Rabbit GTI badge<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9131.jpg\">VW Pick-up with VR6<\/a> &#8211; this car was in great condition<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9113.jpg\">Racing GTI 337 edition<\/a> &#8211; I&#8217;d love to drive this car, but it was sad to see it gutted<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9104.jpg\">Blue Audi S4 Avant<\/a> &#8211; you don&#8217;t see these too often<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.benlevy.com\/auto\/show\/tref06\/img_9103.jpg\">Grey and red MKIV GTI<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was lucky enough to go to one of the largest VW meets in Illinois this weekend.
