I went to the RPM Car Show in Chicago last week and you can see all my pics here<\/a>. This show was being marketed as a HIN<\/a>-killer. I was skeptical, but I go to every car show anyway. The first bad sign was the rain. I had my umbrella, but they made me leave it at the front. They treated umbrellas like deadly weapons. If I had to describe the show in one word, it would be “lacking.” there was not much variety in the cars, the DJing was obnoxious, there were barely any models, and there were hardly any side attractions. I know the rain affected things, but I would consider this show overpriced under ideal weather.<\/p>\n

One of the first things I noticed was that there were a lot of GT-Rs at the show. I saw three R34s, two R35s, and one R32. The three R34s were, basically, the same color. This one with Nismo wheels<\/a> really stood out. The car looks great stock, so you don’t need to do much to make it look stunning.<\/p>\n

Scion xBs are very common at import shows, so I was really impressed when this stood out to me. A turbo Scion xB<\/a> that actually looks unique always gets a thumbs up from me.<\/p>\n

There were plenty of Supras at the show, but this one stood out for two reasons. The first is the full bodykit and gold wheels. The second reason is that this Supra is right-hand drive<\/a>. I’m not sure why someone would bother with a RHD Supra in the US, but it was still interesting to see.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n

There were only a few German cars at the show. This Mercedes-Benz SL55 deserved the first place prize it got in the Mercedes category.<\/p>\n

It was an okay show overall. Hopefully next year will be worth of the $30 charge. With cars like these, this show has potential.<\/p>\n
