I’ve been going to Tuner Galleria since 2010, when it started as a small section in the World of Wheels show in Chicago. With the huge increase in modified imports over the past two decades, it makes sense to add a car show that focuses on something besides Detroit Iron. I screwed up by forgetting to post the pictures from last year’s show. The pictures from last year<\/a> and the 2013 show<\/a> are now online.<\/p>\n

Tuner Galleria had a very nice selection of cars this year. You could see a classic Corolla, and right around the corner you would find a Murcielago. The red EG Civic hatchback was one of the cleanest Civics I had seen in years. It made sense when I found out that the owner has been restoring it for about a decade. I loved the, relatively, subtle mods on the blue WRX, but I also couldn’t help but notice the Nissan GT-R in lime green.<\/p>\n

The European cars had a strong presence this year too. The white Lotus Elise made me want a British sports car (though I’d probably be too timid to drive a car that nice). On the other hand, the BMW 335i looked like something I could live with everyday. This wide-body Mercedes-Benz SL was my favorite of the show. Cars like this (without stickers) are so nice because they look like they were only made for the love of it.<\/p>\n
