I went out to the Chicago Air & Water Show this year, but I also brought a big lens. You can see my pics here.
The USAF Thunderbirds were my favorite part of the show. These F16s are ridiculously loud and fast, but the synchronized moved the pilots do in the air is truly amazing. I appreciated the team afterward because the pictures really show how good they are at holding tight formations in the air.
The AeroShell Aerobatic Team put on a great show in their North American AT-6 Texan. This team was fun to watch partially because they weren’t as incredibly fast as some of the other planes. The propeller planes were able to to moves like tumbling in the sky. It was a great show.
