Ferrari was the featured marquee for the September 2018 Coffee & Classics. There were a mix of older and newer Ferraris that showed up. The Classics were highlighted, and 288 GTO and F40 were displayed front and center. The full set of pictures is available here: Fuelfed Coffee & Classics: September 30, 2018
The Ferrari 288 GTO is a car I don’t see often. This car looks similar to other Ferrari’s made in the 80s, but these cars are extra special. They were the most high performance Ferrari’s made when they were introduced and less than 300 examples were made.
The Ferrari F40 has always been a favorite of mine. They have cartoonish styling of what a kid would consider a fast car, but underneath all of that, it is a street-legal race car. There have been plenty of faster Ferraris made since, but none of the halo cars have looked quite as good. I was even more impressed to find out that this car and the 288 both drove back in light rain. Even the possibility of rain is usually enough for me to avoid taking my car out.
The only thing better than a fast car is a high-performance special edition of a fast car. The Ferrari 458 Speciale is one of those cars. I’m still on the fence about the design of the front bumper, but the car looks excellent otherwise. The revised bumpers and some vents and intakes are the only visual differences that really stand out.
The Lamborghini 350 GT that showed up was a big surprise to me. I didn’t even know the car existed. The car has a very unique presence. The headlights look goofy, but the long hood and simple lines are classic. One 120 of these cars were produced, but this was the start of Lamborghini sports cars. This car is powered by a V12 engine, but the interior was what really blew me away.
I am not very familiar with Lancia Delta Integrales, but I would recognize one anywhere. These cars were not originally sold in the United States, but they were some of the most successful rally cars ever, so car people tend to know about them. One Delta would have been shocking, so you could my reaction to seeing two of them.
Another car that stood out to me was this Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider. This car had the classic good looks of a European roadster and it was also in immaculate condition. These are the kinds of cars that Fuelfed likes to have at their meets.
There are too many cars to go over all of them, but some of my other favorites are below. You should view the full gallery though. There were too many great looking cars.
