Yesterday, Subaru owners from around the Chicagoland area meet up in Schaumburg. Many WRX and Forester owners braved the cold and came out to talk to other lovers of the flat-four. There was only one Legacy that showed up, but it was a very nice SpecB. The mix of WRXs, STIs, and Forester XTs was expected, but I was suprised by a Saab 9-2X Aero that showed up. It’s too easy to forget about the WRX Wagon’s cousin. One interesting note about the 9-2X is that it was built in Japan alongside the Impreza, but was never actually sold in Japan. There were some great looking black WRXs that showed up, but it is so hard to get a good picture of a dark car in that lighting. It was lots of fun, even though I wasn’t able to convince a cab driver cruising by to do a burnout.
