Tuner Galleria didn’t happen in 2021, but it was back in the Donald E. Stephens Center for the 2022 car show season. This is usually the first big import show of the year, so it’s really fun to see a bunch of cars that have been in hibernation. It is also a great opportunity to catch up with friends.
This is an indoor show, so it is always one of the first times you see many of the cars from the tuner scene gather for the year. I have added some of my favorite pics below, but there are many, many more pics in the full gallery here: Tuner Galleria 2022
This purple S14 Silvia spent the winter getting tweaked, so it was nice to see it out. One of the things you notice about this car is its polished parts under the hood and wheels and the Veilside wheels. This car’s purple paint really shined in the convention space.
RAUH-Welt Chicago got a prime spot at Tuner Galleria. Nohra, the RWB 993 Porsche, was on display and filled out it’s aisle with it’s wide fenders. The hounds tooth inserts for the seats did not get finished in time, so a sample of the pattern was draped over the passenger seat.
Diamond Light Works had a booth set up to show off their two Honda S2000s and their custom lighting solutions. The green K24 S2000 might be the most radical S2000 in the Chicago area. It’s incredible that they also brought along an orange S2000 built to the same level.
The EF9 Honda Civic from Midnight Dreamers was there in the new cherry blossom livery. The pink vinyl really grabbed attention when put on an already impressive car. I loved to see local guys being able to promote their company in this way.
Team IC had a nice presence of quality imports. That crew has a nice mix of high-quality cars, and probably one of the more impressive total horsepower counts. Andy’s Civic Type-R looked pretty great on the Mugen MF10 Wheels. Ubae Crew also had a strong presence at the show.
