In early spring of 2020, I decided to go visit the Pullman neighborhood in Chicago. The area is known for things like it’s historic rowhouses, but I also saw an interesting car when walking around the neighborhood.
This silver Ford Thunderbird was parked on the street and surrounded by dead leaves. The car had some rust spots and dents, but it was not unloved. The car is a staple in the neighborhood and can usually be found in the same spot. Construction of the neighborhood started in the late 1800s as housing for workers in the Pullman factories. The neighborhood lacks the high-rises commonly found in Chicago. Pullman, and it’s Ford Thunderbird, both feature unique styling and vintage feel.
The silver paint on the car contrasts with the buildings in the area. Red bricks and green accents were common for the rowhouses in Pullman. It would be interesting to see a classic car with the classic Pullman color scheme.
